This was a product need that was easy to identify – all I had to do was look back to my time at Zynga.
Countless products were pitched to us by outside sales teams or colleagues – but the reality was that a lot of us are lazy and set in our ways. We didn't want to leave an excited new Undock user dead on arrival because their co-workers are disinterested.
While the WHY was easily established – the HOW was actually quite complicated. We're talking about an app that is supposed to suggest MUTUAL preferred time. Mutual in itself implies more than one user!
We solved for this in three parts.
Workflow Optimization: As an Undock user, you never have to look at your calendar, think about time zones, process inbound requests, or manage proposed meeting times.
Calendar Learning: Of course our Predictive Scheduling Engine learns as you use — understanding the times you typically propose, when you like to meet, and who you like to meet at which times. However, to be impactful on install – Undock actually analyzes historical calendaring data. This allows Undock's first suggestion with a non-Undock user to based off of hundreds of data points.
Install and Forget: We've all tried and lapsed out of countless products. Understanding, Undock works without someone actively using the product. Say you get your team to create accounts (takes less than 30 seconds) and they never touch it again.
